Project 100 is our first collaborative project with local community members, such as Dosirak, MKC Law, and Khue H. Quan DDS General Dentistry, to help 1) distribute care packages to college students quarantined in dorms, 2) spread positivity and a feeling of community, and 3) bring awareness to anti-Asian harassment. Thanks to our sponsors, we are able to provide organized meal packages and masks to UCI undergraduate/graduate students who are quarantined within their dorms, unable to return home due to travel bans during COVID-19. Through these care packages, we hope to create a brighter, safer, and better environment for these students. This simple act of kindness can put a smile on their faces and stress off their shoulders. Yes, we know we are only focusing on a small population (UCI students), but this can show the rest of our community that a small helping hand can go a long way.
We need all the help we can get to make this project happen! Click the button below to fill out the signup sheet, and we hope to see y'all on drop off day!
Dosirak Company (a client of MKC Law Group) was formed in 2014 in Irvine, California. Mr. Chris Kim and his family started this business to share their family recipe for traditional Korean food with the mainstream community. “Dosirak” means a packed meal consisting of rice and various side dishes called “banchan.” Mr. Kim has a background in hotel and business management, and one of his business goals was to showcase Korean food as a balanced, nutritious, and healthy alternative to the global fast food trend and culture. They offer set meals and dosirak from their store located in Irvine. They use fresh and healthy ingredients for each of their meals. Thank you, Dosirak!
Dr. Quan and her daughter Elyse Tran (our very own member at NHS 10th) began making masks at the start of quarantine when masks were becoming scarce. At first, she made them for colleagues and family members in the health field and then from there, people started asking for masks and since her dental practice in Westminster was temporary closed due to COVID, she started to crank them out! To date, she has made 1500 masks and donated 1200 of them to local agencies and organizations, including local soup kitchens, sheriffs departments, salvation army, local restaurants, nursing homes, and pharmacies. Thank you, Khue Quan DDS and family!
